At Harris Freidman you can expect tailored, practical and effective legal advice
from lawyers who will be able to understand your scientific goals and have a real
passion for helping you maximise your potential, whether that be commercialisation,
protection or strategic advice.
We have a practical understanding of the issues faced by those in the scientific
and biotechnology fields, and have a wealth of experience in resolving them.
Our multidisciplinary team includes lawyers with undergraduate degrees in science
as well as law, and lawyers with expertise in intellectual property, commercial
law, administrative law, employment law, litigation and insurance. Several of our
lawyers have also worked in a scientific capacity within well known research bodies,
hospitals, universities and medical practices.
While some of the larger law firms prefer to deal with the medical and pharmaceutical
giants, we regularly assist small to medium businesses and start ups who want to
receive the same high quality of advice while being given the priority and personal
attention that those firms do not tend to offer smaller clients.
You will find that our lawyers are accessible, practical and down to earth.
The core science and biotechnology team comprises Steven Nemes, who is an accredited
Business Law Specialist with a commercial focus who has been advising the industry
for many years, Fiona McLay who is an experienced litigator and insurance expert,
and Deborah Hook who is a commercial lawyer with a Medical Science degree and background
in the scientific field.
